Challenge 4:

Find x
“OH MY GOD!” That is exactly what I think when I see a question that asks me to “Find x.” I am not really in touch with my mathematical side, so seeing that question is usually a nightmare. We face a lot of problems that require solving. I believe that every problem has a solution. We just have to keep on calculating. If you fail, go back step-by-step, look for the error, fix it, and continue with your calculations. There are a lot of ways to find x. We are not limited to one method. Some methods are longer, some are harder, and some are really easy. My point is, there is a way to find x.

I always have a hard time finding x in any problem. My methods just do not lead me anywhere. I start with my calculations, and halfway through it, I hit a blank wall (150th word). This always discourages me from moving forward, but it never stops me. I make an ugly thinking-face, and think of what I am going to do next. Planning the next step is the hardest part for me, but also the most thrilling; thrilling because it involves risk-taking. The errors that I make in my path to finding x are often minor. I try my best not to repeat the minor errors, and try to prevent them from developing to major ones. Planning the next step requires me to make a decision, which could either make me, or break me in my future.

Once we find a solution to a problem, a harder one always arises. But, this should never stop us from moving forward. Each new problem we learn how to solve, makes us better, and prepares us for more, and there will always be more. After all x is a variable.
